Public vs. private Crews

Every Crew has one visibility setting, chosen by whoever creates it, and it decides everything about how the Crew appears on Disco.

The difference

• Public — discoverable in the Crews directory and on its team and city pages; anyone can see the member count and join directly from the Crew's page. Right for chapters and fan clubs that want to grow.
• Private — invite-only, with minimal public info. It doesn't appear in browsing — people join by invite link or a direct invite from a member. Right for your regular watch-party group.

Visibility applies to the Crew, not to you: joining a public Crew doesn't change your own check-in visibility, which stays your choice every time — including Ghost Mode.
